Feeling overwhelmed with COVID related duties? LET THE BOE KNOW!

September 14, 2021

Mahalo to all who have been in contact with HGEA staff and member leaders regarding your working conditions. We have been meeting with DOE leadership and will continue to meet with them to advocate for more supportive measures to help you with the never-ending COVID-19 tasks demanding constant attention and leaving many of you exhausted.

The pandemic has made your job practically impossible. Everyone is pitching in but help is still needed. The BOE and DOE need to realize that school personnel cannot effectively support students if they are stressed or burned out.

The DOE will be providing the BOE with another update on the opening of the school year at their meeting on Thursday. It’s time the BOE hears about your working conditions. In order to do that, the HGEA is gathering specific examples of what your typical day or week has looked like this school year. You don’t need to mention your name/school. If you would like to share an example, submit your concerns to HGEA by using the button below.
