AMERICAN RESCUE PLAN BRINGS $6.1 BILLION TO HAWAII
This morning, Congress passed President Biden's $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package also known as the American Rescue Plan.
Yesterday, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported the bill includes $1.6 billion to bolster Hawaii's state budgets, which "will wipe out the budget shortfall" for 2021, and has another $444 million for county help, according to U.S. Senator Brian Schatz.

CORONAVIRUS AID PASSED BY PRO-WORKER LEADERS AND ADVOCATES
From the beginning of the pandemic, AFSCME has been calling on the federal government to fund the frontlines to ensure that essential workers, including many HGEA/AFSCME members, have the resources they need to serve our communities and stay safe.
After nearly a year of advocating for a relief package, which includes state and local aid, AFSCME and HGEA-endorsed President Joe Biden and his team are working to stop the spread of coronavirus and delivering all 50 states with much needed relief.
