Membership ratifies 25th Biennial HGEA General Assembly Charter & Bylaws amendments

HGEA members overwhelmingly voted to ratify amendments to the HGEA Charter of Incorporation & Bylaws:

  • Article III-Objectives of the HGEA Charter of Incorporation — reconfirm HGEA’s primary focus on public sector membership and internal organizing efforts of HGEA bargaining unit members
  • Article I-Membership of the HGEA Bylaws — reconfirm HGEA’s primary focus on public sector membership and internal organizing efforts of HGEA bargaining unit members
  • Article III-Election of the HGEA Bylaws — confirm that elections for HGEA President and the Board of Directors shall be conducted in accordance with the AFSCME Constitution and AFSCME’s Local Union Election Manual

 

The ratification vote breaks down as follows:

  • Article III-Objectives, of the HGEA Charter of Incorporation: accept (93.9%), reject (6.1%)
  • Article I-Membership, of the HGEA Bylaws: accept (93.7%), reject (6.3%)
  • Article III-Election, of the HGEA Bylaws: accept (95.6%), reject (4.4%)

 

Online voting took place statewide from Jan. 5-12, 2021.
