COVID-19 Update: March 27, 2020

March 27, 2020

The situation with COVID-19 continues to evolve and the Governor and each County Mayor are putting into practice measures to address the conditions. Because there is no consistent policy, and things are changing daily there is much confusion and anxiety for some members and their families. HGEA Executive Director Randy Perreira and the entire HGEA staff are working to fight for our members, for clarification on concerns such as who is essential and nonessential and how proper social distancing is being enforced, just to name a few. HGEA is in ongoing communication battling for the safety of all our members, especially those on the frontlines having contact with the general public. HGEA is pressing the State, the DOE Superintendent and the County Mayors to take a more active lead in identifying essential and non-essential functions.

This is a team effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. We can and will get through this together. This is the time when we all step up and do our best to help our communities. Check your eBulletins and remind others to do so as well.
