March 9: COVID-19 Update

March 09, 2020

March 9, 2020. Over the weekend, the state announced a second presumptive positive case of COVID-19. The patient is an elderly resident who was hospitalized after returning to Hawaii from Washington State where the individual became ill. HDOH will contact anyone seated within 2 rows of the ill traveler. Anyone else is considered low risk and should monitor their health for 14 days from the date they left Washington State.

The White House announced that it will provide common sense guidance for all Americans on its website coronavirus.gov this evening.
