WATCH: Randy Perreira's Message
Today the Legislature acted to pass Senate Bill 785 which is the funding bill for the seven collective bargaining agreements for Units 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 13 and 14. This bill is now enrolled to the governor who has 45 days from the adjournment of the Legislative Session, scheduled for July 10, 2020, to decide if he is going to veto the bill. He can sign the bill earlier, which we hope is the case. We now will have valid contracts for each of these units and we won't have the same issues with the employers who claimed we didn't have valid contracts.
