Maui Region Transition Update: September 17

September 17, 2016

Thank you to the many members who attended this week's strategy sessions. Many of you engaged in meaningful dialogue and others took information you received back to your colleagues who could not attend.

We would like to inform you that late this week we were advised that Kaiser Permanente sent a letter to the State defining the changes they would like to see in the supplemental agreement prior to their reconsideration of transitioning before 7/1/2017.

Click here for first letter and here for second letter.

HGEA will continue our advocacy on your behalf as we negotiate with the State the terms and conditions of the Supplemental Agreement we shared with you during the strategy sessions held this week.

If an agreement is reached with the State, we will inform you of the terms and conditions of that agreement. Kaiser will then have the opportunity to review the agreement and consider whether to transition prior to July 1, 2017.  Until then, your current rights and benefits contained in your respective collective bargaining agreements for Units 2, 3, 4, 9 and 13 continue uninterrupted.

We will continue to keep you informed as more information becomes available.
