There has been a significant development in a federal lawsuit filed by United Public Workers against the state of Hawaii regarding 2015 Hawaii Session Law, Act 103, otherwise known as the privatization of the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation Maui Region.
Today, May 17, 2016, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit issued an order preventing the state from implementing privatization of the HHSC Maui Region until September 30, 2016, unless terminated earlier by the court.
