HSTA and state reach tentative agreement

January 09, 2012

On Saturday, it was reported that the Hawaii State Teachers Association and the state reached a tentative agreement for a six-year contract. Currently, the HGEA does not have specific details about the HSTA contract. Upon ratification by HSTA membership, we will seek to obtain the final contract terms, which will be distributed to your negotiating teams to review. As they have done with the UPW contract, the negotiating teams will review the agreement to determine whether to invoke the Favored Nation clause.

We will continue to update you on contract negotiations via HGEA's eBulletin and website.
