19th Biennial General Assembly: May 14-17

The 19th Biennial General Assembly will be held on May 14-17,
2008 at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa in Kona. This
year's theme is "Transition - Inspiring Our Leaders for a New
HGEA."
As the highest governing body of the union, the General
Assembly convenes every two years. During the 3-day
proceedings, delegates consider amendments to the HGEA Charter
& Bylaws, establish union policies and set forth direction
for the organization.
This year, over 500 HGEA member delegates from all islands and
all bargaining units will take part in the convention. It is a
great learning experience and a good opportunity to meet fellow
members.
All resolutions and amendments established at the General
Assembly will be printed in the next issue of The Public
Employee, so be on the lookout!
